Ben Taylor
8:00 pm
The Southern Historical Collection at UNC's Wilson Library presents an evening with singer-songwriter Ben Taylor and his band. Ben, son of rock icons James Taylor and Carly Simon, has just released his first record in four years, and is embarking on a huge fall tour that will stop at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro! The new record "shows off Taylor's soulful voice – which bears more than a passing similarity to his father's pipes – alongside his trademark mix of blues-tinged guitar, Hammond organ and call-and-response backing vocals" --Rolling Stone. Ben’s performance will help celebrate the 90th birthday of his grandmother, Trudy Taylor, and the placement of Taylor Family materials at the SHC. http://www.lib.unc.edu/mss/shc/ http://www.bentaylormusic.com
