Ken Waldman has drawn on his 30 years in Alaska to produce poems, stories, and fiddle tunes that combine into a performance uniquely his. A former college professor, Waldman has toured full-time since 1995, performing at some of the nation’s leading universities, festivals, arts centers, and clubs.
He has published seven full-length poetry collections (and is working on an eighth), a memoir, a children’s book, and has released nine albums that mix old-time Appalachian-style string-band music with original poetry. Ken will be joined for this performance by three North Carolina multi-instrumentalists: Riley Baugus, Adam Tanner, and Cary Moskovitz.
This performance is funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and the North Carolina Arts Council.
