PopUp Chorus Season Finale: People’s Choice

$10 Public, $5 Student (at door only)

7:00 pm

PUC people's choice
Our Tuesday, May 16 SEASON FINALE is a PEOPLE’S CHOICE event which means YOU get to decide what we sing! After a nomination and voting process, PopUp Chorus will sing the two songs that get the most votes. And as if that is not enough fun, the chorus will be accompanied by a full band on this special night.

To nominate the song you want PopUp Chorus to sing on May 16, go to the nomination form and make your suggestion. When you consider what song to nominate, think if it will work for a chorus (lots of harmonies and singable) and if it is likely to be a WINNER! Past People’s Choice winners included “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston, “Jolene” by Dolly Parton, “Africa” by Toto, and dark horse, “Birdhouse In Your Soul” by They Might Be Giants.

The nomination process will remain open until midnight on Wednesday, April 26th. The voting will remain open until Friday, May 5th after which the winning songs will be announced. May the best songs win and we hope to see you on May 16 for the last show of the spring!

Are you new to PopUp Chorus? If so, here are a few questions for you and some event information:

Do you like to sing? Have you thought about joining a chorus but are too busy to commit? Do you sing in the shower, in your car, or along to the radio?  If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then you belong in PopUp Chorus!

PopUp Chorus is the only chorus where you can show up when you want and skip it when you’re too busy. No audition, no weekly commitment. Just show up and sing with an ad hoc bunch of other lovely, excellent people. Together, we form a chorus, and are never the same group twice.

At each event, singers arrive and “learn” two familiar songs, which we later perform and record, guided by our funny and encouraging conductor, Amelia Shul. When each song is ready (we embrace imperfection!) we do a final performance and make a music video. It’s simple, and could not be more fun. Our participants range in age from 5-75, and we welcome everybody, regardless of ability.
