Charlie Chaplin’s silent masterpiece from 1925 is being given a unique live score from Tim Carless. Upon its release the New York Times offered, “Here is a comedy with streaks of poetry, pathos and tenderness.” It is considered by many to be the greatest film of the silent era and Chaplin’s finest achievement. Carless will be performing with an ensemble of musicians.
Tim Carless has been a working musician for the last 30 years. Having enjoyed tenures in London, NYC and Los Angeles, he has written, performed and recorded with people as disparate as Wreckless Eric, Paul McCartney and Aufgehoben.
