“For poetry makes nothing happen: it survives… A way of happening, a mouth.” –W.H. Auden

How does poetry interact with your world? What does it do? In this workshop, or series of poetic meetings, writers of any experience level are invited to discover what it means to make your poems “happen.” We will dive into poems in search of “the mouth,” that sings and shouts or whispers and whines, and use what we find to electrify our own work. Students will be offered writing prompts and exercises as well as opportunities for workshop and feedback while writing, revising and performing poems.
