Learn Acting Technique!
Developing a character is a combination of how to prepare for the role by making specific choices through text work, character and scene analysis, and also how to develop and experience that role while behaving truthfully on the stage, and in front of the camera.
This course will build an actor’s foundation of acting techniques through the exploration of theatre games, improvisations, and scene study.
The actor will be given a scripted scene to work on with a partner. This scene will continue to develop weekly and enable each actor to apply the techniques learned in class. There will be a strong focus on preparation, instinct, and finding honesty as we explore the actor’s process.
A sharing of scenes will be performed on the final day.
Special Note: The acting techniques taught in class have a strong foundation in the methods of Constantin Stanislavski, Sanford Meisner and Uta Hagen, among others.
Masks must be worn at all times. Students are required to show instructors a proof of vaccination before attending in-person classes. Refunds and exchanges are not offered for in-person classes offered during the pandemic.
