King – Saturdays, Jul 31 – Aug 28, 10am – 1pm (In-person)

Students will learn how to paint a still life with oil paint in the alla prima method (wet on wet). This type of oil painting can be completed in one day, while all the paint is wet, by carefully and accurately drawing enclosed shapes for light and shadow areas, and building the painting methodically from there. The five-week course is perfect as an intro to oil paint, or for any oil painter who wants to practice alla prima or still life. Once learned, the alla prima method can be practiced independently and applied to any subject (not just still life). Students will also learn more about color mixing and composition.
