Beginning Metalsmithing: The First Step

This class is the first step into the creative world of metalsmithing. In this class, students will learn basic techniques and tool care, and projects will start with metal preparation, design layout and sawing. Students will learn filing and sanding techniques and finally how to apply a texture and final finish and/or patina. A copper or brass pierced pendant, earrings or key chain will be made.
Chrissy Jahnes – $120 – Saturday & Sunday, 10am-4pm, January 12 & 13
Note: This is a prerequisite to most other metalsmithing classes.
Attendance at the first class is mandatory.
Students will be expected to follow along with the class projects.
An $8 studio fee and an $8-$15 materials fee, based upon current market prices of metals, paid to instructor at first class.
All ArtSchool registrations have a $3 processing fee added upon check-out.
