Age Range: 3rd -6th grade
Together we will learn about different techniques to draw people. We will work on sketches and self portraits to understand proportions, expression and the uniqueness of our own face.
Week Two: Learning How to draw Expressions
Monday: Practicing Facial features with different emotions.
Tuesday: Drawing cartoon expressions. Referencing Marvel comics and Art of Disney Talk and practice drawing age. (Return to gesture drawings and sketching) Create our own character. How can we describe them through our drawings without words.
Wednesday: Continue working on our characters and share.
Thursday: Short comic strip without words. Homework: Take a photo of yourself and print in black and white (Full page, Copy paper).
Materials: Ruler, Paper, Pencil, Colored pencils, Pen (Any pen will be fine, but black/blue ink is preferred), Mirror, Printed self portrait on copy paper, Erasers, Magazines with people to draw in them, Optional: Sharpies.
This class is conducted online! A computer with audio, video, and internet functionality is required. Student gives permission for The ArtsCenter and for instructor to use their image and comments in class recordings for promotional non-commercial purposes. Refunds and exchanges are not offered for online classes.
