Class description: Art has always been taught as a craft, but there is a broad spectrum of ways of thinking about and doing art. Ber will be teaching art not as a craft but as a distinct way of thinking. We will learn how to use one’s eyes to see as an artist, holistically, and to think about and make each mark to enhance the composition. This process is a fractal, repeated over and over as the composition evolves, and will be the focus of this class. Figure drawing is the foundational tool for learning to see and draw from nature, not a subjective, stylized interpretation, but an interpretation of what is actually there. No prior experience will be needed. The class will be taught with demonstrations, explanations and discussions, and working one on one with students as they draw from the live model. Finished art will not be the goal of this class, developing an understanding of the art process will be.

Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment within 3 business days of their start will be cancelled, and any purchased tuition will be fully refunded.

Exchange and Cancellation Policy

You may request a full refund up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. You may request a transfer of your enrollment up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. We do not process requested refunds or transfers within 5 business days of the start of a class, nor after the class has begun.
