Love the Scrap Exchange or rummaging through junk shops? Create an art object with all of those treasures. Learn to assemble 3-D objects with mixed media collage to create shadow boxes, shrines, trays, or story boxes. Similar to collage, assemblage art is a form of sculpture comprised of “found” objects arranged together. These objects can be anything organic or man-made. Scraps of wood, discarded metal parts, kids plastic toys, paper, buttons, keys, door knobs, aquarium plants, you name it… you can use it. In this workshop, we will create art pieces on cigar boxes, card catalog drawers, small dresser drawers, wooden trays or wooden boxes from the craft store – whatever you have.
