Wilde – Mondays, May 3 – 24, 7-9 pm (Online)
During decades of reviewing, children’s book columnist for the Raleigh News and Observer, Susie Wilde, has examined thousands of titles. She’s even squirreled away a secret stash that she lovingly refers to her bad book collection. Most of these are written by celebrities. In this five-week class, she will pair some of her favorites, both bad and good, to help students understand what makes books work. After comparing and analyzing titles, students will use these experiences to answer prompts that emphasize their writing.
