This course expands on the foundation of the Intro to Portrait Painting course, and allows intermediate and advanced students to continue their study of portrait painting using a full palette. The course will center on the experience of painting from a live model, with a single, sustained pose. Students will learn how to achieve a better likeness as well as how to paint convincing flesh tones. Each class will include a painting demonstration, discussion and individual instruction at the easel. Intermediate and advanced students will discover how to take their work to the next level and achieve the finish that they desire.
Note: Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Kelly Oakes, the instructor originally scheduled to teach this class, will not be able to teach. Instead, Stacye Leanza, one of The ArtSchool’s veteran visual arts instructors, will teach this class using the same syllabus and materials list.
