This ceramic course will cover the basics of handbuilding techniques: from pinch pots to coiling to slab construction. Students will learn how to alter surfaces with applied texture and carving methods. Glazes and oxide washes will be used to apply color and finish to the final pieces. While the course will go over figurative and abstract sculptural approaches, students will be encouraged to experiment with both sculptural and functional forms to create unique works of art. If you want to have some fun experimenting with clay, this is the class for you!

Masks must be worn at all times. Students are required to show instructors a proof of vaccination before attending in-person classes. Refunds and exchanges are not offered for in-person classes offered during the pandemic.
