Class description: This ceramic course will cover the basics of hand building techniques: from pinch pots to coiling to slab construction. Students will learn how to alter surfaces with applied texture and carving methods. Glazes and oxide washes will be used to apply color and finish to the final pieces. While the course will go over figurative and abstract sculptural approaches, students will be encouraged to experiment with both sculptural and functional forms to create unique works of art. If you want to have some fun experimenting with clay, this is the class for you!

Materials provided by: Instructor will collect materials and make them available for students; students will be required to bring a materials fee to the first class to reimburse the instructor

All ArtSchool Classes are for 15 and up unless otherwise specified.

ArtSchool Class Enrollment Policy

Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment within 3 business days of their start will be cancelled, and any purchased tuition will be fully refunded.

Exchange and Cancellation Policy

You may request a full refund up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. You may request a transfer of your enrollment up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. We do not process requested refunds or transfers within 5 business days of the start of a class, nor after the class has begun.
