Through demonstrations and hands on experience with printing inks, paper, and a ‘pin press’, students will learn how to use monoprinting skills at home without a printing press. Participants should leave with several works of art.
Week 1: Students will learn to see the form of flowers and leaves, or any delights of the garden, and explore the power of mark making through line, shape, texture and tone.
Week 2: Students will learn to embellish their B&W print from the previous class. COLOR inks will be introduced, and incorporated into new prints.
A materials fee of $15 is due to the instructor at the beginning of class. Students should bring a work apron or oversized shirt that can get messy.
