OdysseyStage presents Past Imperfect: Voices from NC History
“History never really says goodbye,” wrote journalist Eduardo Galeano. “History says, ‘See you later.’”
Written by members of Triangle Playwrights, these monologues are based on NC figures whose influence can still be felt—for better or worse—today. Some names may be familiar, others not. We hear, in the voices of the past, people fighting for freedom and social justice as well as those willing to manipulate others to stop progress or simply to promote themselves. Though the people represented are long gone, their politics, beliefs, causes, and sacrifices still resonate in these turbulent times.
