Class description: For those interested in screenwriting techniques for feature film and long-form television. No experience is required – all you need is a deep and abiding interest in writing, acting and storytelling! In this class, you will learn how to create a fictional world, compelling characters, and structure for a feature film or TV pilot. Through film analysis and writing exercises, students will learn how to write compelling characters fully arc’ed through plot-driven dialogue. The format will be an interactive one rooted in enthusiasm for storytelling and its crucial techniques. Students are encouraged to purchase a copy of Robert McKee’s “Story” for reference throughout the course. To prepare for the first class, view Moonstruck with Cher and Nicolas Cage and be ready to discuss your favorite scene.

Classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment within 3 business days of their start will be cancelled, and any purchased tuition will be fully refunded.

Exchange and Cancellation Policy

You may request a full refund up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. You may request a transfer of your enrollment up to 5 business days prior to the start date of your course. We do not process requested refunds or transfers within 5 business days of the start of a class, nor after the class has begun.
