In this course, we will experiment with watercolor and mixed media techniques to create watercolor animals. Each week, students will draw and paint a different animal using a different watercolor technique. Animals of focus will be based on student requests. Students will interact with each other in daily feedback sessions.

Art Box to store tools in. A cardboard box works well!
Safe, flat place to dry artwork
Table that can get messy
Watercolor paper pad 90lb-140lb 10 + Sheets 8 x 12″ or larger
Pallet for mixing colors (tupperware lid in white, old tin top, styrofoam tray or plate)
Salt (coarse grain or coarse grain sea salt works best, but table salt will also work)
Crayons (white crayon especially)
Watercolor Brush Set
Glue (Elmer’s Liquid or paste glue)
Dish of Water
Regular old towel for drying brushes
Large circle object to trace for Color wheel (about the size of the paper)
