An invitation to explore movement via improvisational practice in an open level workshop. This space is open to all people, bodies, and experiences and will center BlaQueer & Trans realities of being and community.
In celebration of the company’s 40-year history of improvisation, Actors Improv Theater presents Hystory in the Making, an off-kilter take on the events and people shaping the human story. Rather than a factually accurate presentation of history this show is a fanciful interpretation of it. Completely improvised based on audience suggestions, the show features live music and spontaneous songs.
This class is designed for beginners, but is also ideal for those who may need a refresher on their basic skills.
Be Here Now is a one-day workshop that will focus on using improv tools to be fully engaged in the moment, create incredible teamwork, and enhance creative thinking, all in the back-drop of an afternoon of fun, games and laughter.
In this workshop, design wearable mini mosaic art created with colorful stained glass bits and Millefiori (Italian for “a thousand flowers”).
As springtime comes to the Piedmont, this class will focus on making pots to hold plants -- vases and planters of all types!
We will cover using high-temp wire with clay, talk about designing for wearability, and combining glazed and fired pieces with wire, cord, and chain. Students can expect to make earrings, necklaces, and more!
For those interested in creating vessels from natural materials, traditional weaving techniques, and the therapeutic qualities of working with your hands.
In this course, we will use traditional weaving techniques and non-traditional materials to create both sculptural and functional vessels. There will be instruction in methods of weaving and netting with adjustments for different material tensions. Bring your plastic bags, random bits of rope, scrap wood and more! Class is beginner friendly and open to all levels.
Students of this workshop will gain the skills needed to create their own wearable art using this amazing, timeless medium.
Prerequisite: at least one beginning wheel-throwing course. This is a mixed-levels course during which we will investigate wheel-throwing tools.
Intended for students who have taken a pottery class, or made pottery, in the last year.
Beginners are welcome in this class where we will examine the steps necessary for creating on the potter’s wheel.

Learn knitting basics: casting on, knit, purl, picking up dropped stitches, garter stitch, stocking knit stitch, ribbing, Knit 2 decrease, yarn over increase and casting off. Students will also learn basic abbreviations used in knitting and how to read a simple pattern.
This class is designed for beginners, but is also ideal for those who may need a refresher on their basic skills.
3 hour session dedicated to multiple poses by the model, starting with short (gesture) poses and moving onto longer (20 min.) poses.
