YOUTH GALLERY OCTOBER + NOVEMBER 2026
I create mixed-media interpretations of both commonplace creatures and mythical and magical
figures using Barbie dolls. Utilizing only repurposed materials and found objects, I transmute
thrift-store Barbies into familiar, yet exalted, portrayals of what I experience as the sacred all
around us. I pay homage to the tiny, the monstrous, the martyr, the fantastic, the Feminine, the
mystic. In creating these pieces I am connecting to a Divine Energy, which takes many forms
but always reflects my deep connection with the sacredness of common objects and everyday
life. I experience the numinous in my transmutations of Barbie, my childhood friend and refuge,
into heroine, messenger, saint, monster
