Beth Gardiner is a multi-hyphenate creative type focused on live events, storytelling, and community. After earning degrees in Theatre from Wesleyan University and UC Irvine she spent two decades working as a director, producer, dramaturg and educator for companies all over the country. In New York City she co-founded Three Day Hangover, an immersive theatre company that produced unexpected, joyful productions of classic texts in non-traditional venues. Three Day’s adaptations of works by Shakespeare, Chekhov, Molière, and others garnered the company widespread critical acclaim and a rowdy cult following.

Putting her theater skills to use in other areas, Beth has also worked as an administrator in day jobs with companies ranging from small nonprofits to national advocacy organizations, to international investment firms.

Beth believes in the power of gatherings and narrative to strengthen communities and interpersonal relationships. She has focused recently on community-engaged art making and celebrating stories that are by, for, and of the folks in the room.

During the pandemic, Beth relocated back home to Durham with her husband, Jon. She’s now the Events Manager for Carolina Public Humanities where she helps curate and run programming connecting UNC experts with the North Carolina public. She likes to think of herself as a “nerd producer.”

Beth is also a hiker, baker, dinner party lover, and doting dog mom to Toby Ziegler, her big doofus of a dog.
