London Dernis is a first-year undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She grew up in South Florida, but left for college to escape the heat. She is currently double-majoring in Psychology and English, with a concentration in Writing, Editing, and Digital Publishing.
London has a deep love for storytelling that she expresses through various creative outlets. In 2024, she founded The Perfect Pair Project, which received a Miami Herald Silver Knight Honorable Mention. She also shares her passion for reading through a TikTok account, which has grown to over 70,000 followers. She was the Editor-in-Chief of her high school newspaper, where she earned six state-level awards at the Florida Scholastic Press Association. Now, she works on the copy desk at The Daily Tar Heel and serves on its DEI Committee. She’s excited to bring her passion for the arts to the ArtsCenter Board.
