Actors Improv Theater presents Ho-Ho-Holiday Musical at The ArtsCenter, Dec. 6. The company explores seasonal themes like nostalgia, gifts, traditions, travel, and connection with family and friends. The show is based on audience suggestions and everything from the scenes to the songs to the choreography is made up on the spot.
Ricky Bloomfield (reeds), Bakru Hunsel (percussion), and music director Glenn Mehrbach (piano) comprise the orchestra. The cast is Hailey Brown, director Greg Hohn, Dana Marks, and Steve Scott.
Founded in 1983 as Transactors, Actors Improv Theater is the longest-running improvisational company in the South. If you laugh, they’re doing comedy; if you don’t, they’re doing drama.
Actors Improv Theater, formerly known as Transactors, is the longest-running, oldest improvisational theater in the South. Our work focuses on emotion, physicality, character, collaboration, and fun.
The company formed in 1983 at The ArtsSchool in Carrboro, NC, as a children’s theater. Much of its work was scripted, but over time the group metamorphosed into a professional touring company performing improvisational theater for audiences of all ages.
General admission is $25 and student tickets are $15, both available online and at the door. This show is rated PG-13.
