You are cordially invited to attend a fully-improvised, hour-long comedic murder mystery. Using suggestions from the audience to set the location, choose the occasion, and create the roles, our cast of eccentric characters will find themselves trapped on stage with a murderer – and they need to figure out who the killer is, before it’s too late. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, people will die!

Out to Lunch is a Durham-based improv team that’s been dodging phone calls and making excuses together since 2022. Their fully improvised shows kick off with one simple question: What’s your excuse for not answering the phone? From “I’m out to lunch” to “I’m undercover as a goose,” no reason is too mundane – or too bizarre. Using that spark, they spin absurd, fun tales full of misdirection, awkward moments, and delightful chaos. Whatever your excuse is, make sure it includes catching this show.

This is a seated show with tables. The ArtsCenter has a beer and wine bar, snacks and a water station (bring your own bottle or ask for an eco cup!). Enter around the BACK of the building at the Theater entrance, where there is plenty of parking.
