The title of the exhibition is Le temps retrouvé: Time and Space. Le temps retrouvé, or time regained, is here a reference to how we can lose sight of our dreams and aspirations, only to realize them later or in a different setting. The images in Emily Lees’ abstract monoprints dissolve into the background, while others simultaneously emerge from the depths. While her images may suggest floating or soaring, they are left ambiguous in order to allow the viewer’s own emotions to define the work.
