We’ve heard people looking at a Jackson Pollock painting say: “My kid could paint that.”
But so what – why is child art invalid as serious art?
The ArtsCenter presents a show this January in the central Nicholson Gallery that juxtaposes childhood artwork next to adult artwork. How does the early work of one artist compare with his later artwork? Are they similar, or different? How so?
This solo exhibition of artworks by Joe McDonough, covering a range of mediums and spanning the years 1983-2019, interrogates how we form our judgments about art.
Exhibition runs January 1st-31st, 2020
