November 1st: Actors Improv – Day of the Dead

  • Date: FRIDAY, NOV 1st, 2024
  • Type of Show: Improv
  • Showtime(s): 7:30pm Length of Show: 1.5 Hours
  • Tickets: $25 general, $15 student

Actors Improv’s annual spooky show offers an unusual twist this year as they focus less on horror and suspense and more on death and its relevance to life, all underscored by a super-funky guitar/organ/sax/drums quartet.

The show, as always, is completely spontaneous and based on audience suggestions. They’ll be asking questions like: Why would you haunt somebody? What’s something you’d like to say to someone you know who’s died? What are you proud of? What do you regret?

Rob Ladd (drums), Grant Osborne (organ), Scott Sawyer (guitar), and Mike Templeton (tenor sax) make up the band. The cast is Hailey Brown, director Greg Hohn, Dana Marks, and Steve Scott.

Actors Improv Theater, formerly known as Transactors, is the longest-running, oldest improvisational theater in the South. Our work focuses on emotion, physicality, character, collaboration, and fun.

The company formed in 1983 at The ArtsSchool in Carrboro, NC, as a children’s theater. Much of its work was scripted, but over time the group metamorphosed into a professional touring company performing improvisational theater for audiences of all ages.

General admission is $25 and student tickets are $15, both available online and at the door. This show is rated PG-13.
