Spotlight on Silent Auction Artist David A. Botts

“I learned carpentry from my father, a home builder in northern Virginia.  I was inspired by artist and friend David Lowen in Texas in my early twenties. I made beautiful jewelry made from deer antler. I did fine inlay using turquoise and other semi precious stones. Using a skill saw and a speed square I started building inlaid picture frames for other artists. Through the years I honed my skills and collected better tools to work with. I learned problem solving and wood joinery working in historic preservation in Fredricksburg Va. In the early 1990’s I started entering art shows and using more materials in my art work.

Won best in show at the King George artist guild

Entered Philly Furniture show in 1995 and 97
