Luna Lee Ray

Originally from New York, I received my BFA in Portland Oregon, and have lived in North Carolina since 1998. I have been a painting instructor at the Artscenter since 2001; I exhibit my work at FRANK Gallery in Chapel hill, where I am also the lead curator.

“My work is inspired and informed by the natural world, mythologies, dreams, and visions. I am interested in images that show myself and the viewer something new in the world. Technically, i love a rich , layered , textured surface, created partly by accident, that adds to the depth and mystery of the piece.”

Luna has generously donated an original mixed media piece to The ArtsCenter’s Silent Auction, on display throughout the month of June in the Nicholson Gallery.  To place a bid for this artwork, visit our box office  or call us at (919) 929-2787.  Bids starting at $125 will be accepted until 5PM on June 28th.
