In this course we will focus on creating a set of functional pottery. Depending on your skill level, this may be a set of cups, bowls, mugs, or plates. Or maybe a pair of candlesticks? Your set(s) may include two or more matching pieces and you will get to establish your definition of “matching.” This is an intermediate level course.
A mixed-levels course during which we will investigate wheel-throwing tools. Prerequisite: at least one beginning wheel-throwing course.
In this class we will concentrate on the function of wheel-thrown forms and how that purpose should inform the details of their design. Prerequisite: at least one beginning wheel-throwing course.
Build on your previous wheel experience by planning forms before centering and throwing with more deliberate intention.
