Rachel Moon is a fiber artist, teaching artist, professional sewist, and mixed media upcycler with a love of music and comedy. Rachel’s love of the arts has led her to many forms of expression, including performing in musical theater, singing in jazz and folk bands, live storytelling, costuming, clothing upcycling, mixed media and collage art, and video production. Rachel’s background in sewing began as curiosity about mending and upcycling, which led to a 5-year apprenticeship in the world of clothing alterations and repair, and 9 years running a successful clothing alterations business – Rachel Moon’s Alterations. She now enjoys teaching clothing alterations and upcycling at The ArtsCenter in both group and one on one sessions, as well as supporting the performing arts as manager of the box office. Rachel loves to volunteer supporting Paperhand Puppet Project performances as a puppeteer and she volunteers at Festival for the Eno helping to keep compost and recyclables out of the landfill as part of their Trash Free team.
