Statement:

Reclamation of Love: Love Letters to Gender Expansiveness is a group showcase featuring local gender expansive artists brought together by The Gender Gallery, an interdisciplinary documentary creative project celebrating the expansiveness of gender through community, creativity, and performance within the South. Inspired by The Gender Gallery’s most recent performance of the same title, this showcase serves as a living ritualistic love letter to gender expansiveness.

By boldly and loudly loving our transness through creativity we are attempting to normalize and reclaim love, space, time, and touch, all of which our community has been taught we are not worthy of. Within this sacred environment, marked by ritual and vulnerability, we hope this creative space allows you to extend care to others while inviting yourself to show love to your own expansiveness.

Give breath to our living love letter by adding your words to our growing archive of transformative love and admiration.

A scattered collection of handwritten letters and notes on lined and plain paper, some with sketches of hearts and doodles, overlapping each other on a flat surface.
Sheets of paper and handwritten notes are hanging by strings, illuminated by a warm glowing light in the background. The scene appears artistic and creative, with colorful paper and textured materials adding visual interest.
