A collaboration with Carolina Public Humanities (https://humanities.unc.edu/).
Join us for an unconventional learning-making-tasting exploration as we dig into dirt to find poetry, history, art, and nourishment. We’ll consider dirt through three brief presentations by UNC scholars, get our hands dirty by shaping locally sourced clay into art with ceramicist Taryn Revoir, and Botanist & Barrel Cidery will also be on site for a tasting while sharing the stories behind their products.
Younger family members (ages 5+) will be able to craft and snack separately with ArtsCenter staff while adults enjoy the presentation.
Cost: $50 per adult; participants ages 5-17 are free.
FEATURING
Fred Joiner, former Carrboro Poet Laureate
Camille Goldmon, Assistant Professor, UNC Department of History
Hallie Brew, UNC Southern Cultures Fellow working with the Equal Justice Initiative
