New ArtsCenter Building in Carrboro
At this meeting we’ll be discussing the plans for a new building for The ArtsCenter. We’ll be looking for your input on your needs with our new facility.
We are hoping that the new space will open up more dates on our calendar. This, in turn, will offer performing groups (theater, dance, filmmakers and more) in our area another venue at which to present their work.
Our new building is still a work in progress design-wise and your input will be vital for us to create the space that you need.
Everything is still in the planning phase.
Our hope is that in addition to offering new, better equipped performance space(s), we can offer rehearsal hall(s) / room(s) to outside groups.
Another big goal for ArtsCenter Stage is to bridge the gap between our performance offerings and our educational opportunities – for adult learners, kids & artists. These opportunities include:
– arts in education residencies in schools
– school shows (both in the schools and at The ArtsCenter)
– master classes / workshops for theater artists of all disciplines (performers, directors, playwrights, designers)
– afterschool artists’ residencies
– and more!
Please make every effort to attend this meeting. Plans are being made now by our board and with the steering committee.
They need to hear from you – those we serve and those we hope to serve – to get your input included in this planning phase.
